Henry Gbadega,
Founder and Chairman
Henry Adetutu Gbadega is a visionary leader and the esteemed founder of the Nigerian Community in Edinburgh-UK. His journey towards establishing this community began long before he set foot in the United Kingdom, illustrating his deep commitment to fostering a sense of unity and support among Nigerians residing in Edinburgh.
Henry’s educational background is marked by excellence and dedication. He holds a National Diploma in Accounting from Federal Polytechnic Ede. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Henry pursued his first degree in Banking and Finance at Lagos State University, further honing his skills in the financial sector.
Prior to his relocation to Scotland, UK, Henry distinguished himself in the banking industry. He worked at GTBank, where his exemplary work ethic and dedication earned him prestigious awards on two separate occasions. His contributions to the banking sector reflect his unwavering commitment to excellence and professionalism.
Henry’s academic achievements are equally impressive. At the graduation ceremony on July 6th, 2023, Henry was honoured with the esteemed ‘Winner of the University Medal’ award. This prestigious accolade was bestowed upon Henry in recognition of his outstanding academic performance, surpassing all other students in the January 2022 cohort of the program at Edinburgh Napier University, where he obtained a Master of Science in International Finance.
Driven by a passion for community building and empowerment, Henry embarked on the journey of founding the Nigerian Community in Edinburgh, UK. His vision for this community is rooted in a desire to create a supportive and inclusive environment where Nigerians can come together, celebrate their culture, and address common challenges faced in their new home.
Henry’s leadership and dedication serve as an inspiration to all members of the Nigerian Community in Edinburgh-UK. Through his visionary guidance and unwavering commitment, Henry continues to uplift and empower Nigerians in Edinburgh, fostering a strong sense of unity and camaraderie within the community. His notable achievements include hosting the largest get-together party for Nigerians in Edinburgh in 2023, organizing the candlelight march for popular Nigerian music icon Mohbad in Edinburgh, assisting more than 250 immigrant students and non-students in finding affordable apartments in Edinburgh, and aiding more than 1000 immigrant students in securing employment opportunities in the city.

I am an accomplished professional with a strong academic background and a passion for achieving goals and objectives. With my diverse qualifications in banking and finance, management, and human resources, I possess a well-rounded skill set that enables me to excel in various roles. I am known for being loving, caring, dedicated, confident, and committed to delivering exceptional results.
